Job Mission

This position has the overall responsibility for CLS Parts Lifecycle Management program.Provide high level requirement to supply chain on parts lifecycle risk capture process.Ensure the business process owned by supply chain adequately captures the parts lifecycle risks.Foster a culture of cross-industry learning with engineering and supply chain by leading the attendance at key conferences and BKM exchange events.

Job Description

Upon receipt of new parts obsolescence notification, disposition the issue and assign resources accordingly.Set goals with the engineering management on component replacement closures.For other parts, in collaboration with Engineering, Product Marketing, and Supply Chain, determine the resolution strategy such as LTB, reclaim, harvesting, and/or redesign.Manage engineering resources and controllable spend to deliver engineering redesign solutions to address.

  • PDP Project – Work with cross functional team to deliver engineering solution from Phase 1 start to PG5.

  • Incorporate “future proofing” in PG1 to consolidate touches on the same module by IBL and NPD.Implement “Tech Refresh” strategic planning in this phase to optimize RequisitionLocal to the customer and minimize engineering spend.

  • Create and track schedules, budgets, costs, performance targets, resource plans, and general planning activities for engineering deliverables.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the proper elements of the Product Development Process (PDP) are known and adhered to across the engineering team, as well as assessing risk and mitigation strategies, highlighting issues and managing their solutions, and coordinating the various development activities to ensure good cross-program communication.

  • Non-PDP Project – Manage project and resource prioritization to ensure engineering solution is developed and qualified prior to run-out of the obsolete part.

  • Ensure all new modules go through qualification prior to release, and have OPSC solution monitoring to ensure performance as expected.

  • Work with Product Marketing and account team to deliver periodic updates to OnPulse customers.

  • Visit key customers in person and engage customer to demonstrate RequisitionLocal of CLS Proactive Lifecycle Management Program.

  • Provide input to Product Marketing regarding engineering spend profile for legacy products in yearly Product Lifecycle Update process.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management,or related field.Advanced degree is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 – 7 years relevant, work related experience required.

  • Experience with product life cycle management, supplier management, and commercial negotiation.

  • Experience with strategic sourcing – materials, boards, chips, supplies, etc.

  • Experience with dual sourcing and managing multiple suppliers.

  • Market, obsolescence, financial planning experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.

  • Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.

  • Excellent ability to lead and work cross-functionally across multiple departments on complex planning challenges and projects.

  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic e-mail systems.
