ASML San Jose, CA is an industry leader in computational lithography for integrated circuits. Our Tachyon platform enables capabilities that address chip design, photomask making and wafer printing for semiconductor manufacturing and the LithoTuner platform enables lithography optimization for ASML’s leading photo lithography tools, known as ‘scanners’.


Job Description

We are seeking candidates to join a team of engineers developing new leading-edge products. Pattern Fidelity Control, or PFC, uses computational lithography methods to identify patterns within a chip layout, which are most sensitive to process variability, and enables defect prediction, defect reduction, and yield improvement.

The successful candidate will report to ASML/Brion’s Fab Product Engineering Group manager and work with the team to solve the challenges associated with the shrinking in critical dimensions at the 10-nm node and below. The product engineers’ function is to develop and to support customer applications. As such, product engineers own the functional specifications of new products, their functional and integration testing, as well as the development of best practices for standard or customized applications. They also provide 2nd line support for established products.

Responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:

Interacting with customers to gain understanding of their technical requirements and effectively translating these requirements onto new product specifications

Helping conduct feasibility studies

Determining best practices for new products

Responsibility for new product introductions

Performing acceptance tests

Conducting customer engagement projects to demonstrate the performance of our products.

Education-

M.Sc. and above in Electrical Engineering, Physics, and/or Chemical Engineering,

Experience
-IC manufacturing, semiconductor process technology, and related fields
Experience-5+ years of experience in lithography modeling and/or OPC
-Script level programming skills.
-Advanced knowledge of optical physics and imaging (Fourier optics, EM theory…) and semiconductor process technology.
-Insight into leading-edge chipmakers’ needs in terms of software, data analysis tools and control strategies
-Must able to work independently and also effectively as a member of a team.

Education

-M.Sc. and above in Electrical Engineering, Physics, and/or Chemical Engineering,
-IC manufacturing, semiconductor process technology, and related fields


Experience

-5+ years of experience in lithography modeling and/or OPC
-Script level programming skills.

Context of the position

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings.
