Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering is responsible for the specification and the design of ASML products.
In this sector, the department Software Architecture & Integration (SWAI) specifies, executes and controls the testing and integration of the software of various subsystems into a complete software release.

Position in the organization: the Domain Test Software Architect is responsible for defining what and how the new software items should be tested.

Job Description

As Domain Test Software Architect you areresponsible for ensuring no regression occurs at customers with the newsoftware to be released, understand how customers use our systems and increasethe test coverage based on identified gaps, issues seen at customers and newASML functionality. Your advice to the software release project whether torelease or not is one ofthe cornerstonedecisions in the software qualification process.

The team consists of ~13 engineers,working according to Agile principles. The Domain Test Software Architect conducts theProduct Owner role.
One of the team goals is to automate the customer datacollection and test case creation process. This requires you to have experiencewith software developmentand softwareproject management.

Via automated tooling customer user profiles are generated andconverted into test cases. These test cases are based upon the Robot frameworkand the keywords are implemented in Python. Object oriented techniques are usedto design and implemented the software. As product owner you ensure that withinyour team the software is of high quality, meaning amongst others that it is maintainableand reliable.

Together with your stakeholders you set the vision for your team,define the roadmap to achieve the vision and execute the roadmap accordingly.You regularly report out towards the Test & Integration staff on theprogress realized and the help needed.

Amongst others you align expectations what has been testedbefore the software is delivered for integration, ensure the test environmentis prepared for the upcoming qualifications and improve the test process. Youare also responsible for aligning with customers who wish to be included in thedata sharing / test case creation process.

This position is in the Software Test & Integration Department,which is part of the Software Cluster in Development & Engineering. The Software Test Domain Architect reports to the Software Customer Reliability TestGroup Leader.
Key interfaces are representatives from the business lines, other test domain architects and the software release projectleaders.


- Master education level is mandatory.
- Degree in computer science, or similar with software testing affinity.
- Relevant test related training (e.g. ISTQB Advanced).


At least 15 years ofexperience with software development and testing, ideally combined withcustomer contact experience
Experience in managingsoftware development projects
Experience with productowner role, and leading an Agile development team
Take initiative and takeownership of issues beyond your formal area of responsibility
Communicates easily withproject and line managers

Other Information

This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as definedin the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidatesmust be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior tobeginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicantswho are immediately eligible to access U.S. controlled technology.
